“Spirit in Practice” had a great start! #uugoodnews #princegeorges

July 12, 2011

We started the new adult religious education program, “Spirit in Practice” this past Sun. We had two very organized facilitators and an attendance of more than 15, which is a good size for this kind of workshop, though it’s still open form newcomers.

In the first class, we got to know each other and what we think “spiritual” means to us and what kind of “spiritual practices” we have. There were no wrong answers. The class lists different types of spiritual practices and we will be trying them out.

For me, it’s connecting with people, both online and in person. This workshop gives me the opportunity to get to know a lot of people better. Participants are diverse – from different religious backgrounds, races, ages, and more, which allows for learning from a wealth of variety in people who seem delightful to be with. Some spiritual practices included singing, gardening, and silent meditation. We’ll be learning about different forms of prayer and meditation next week. More here.
